The term gaslighting is probably well overused at this point, but I do feel as though we’re all being gaslit–gaslighted, or however we’re saying it as a past participle, by culture–a culture we’ve created. I would personally like to thank society for making life as miserable as possible while also asserting that if we aren’t able to figure out a way to be happy despite the conditions, it’s our own fault because there’s something wrong with us. I imagine this is how many of us feel, rushing here and there to places we don’t want to be to do things we don’t want to do for a “living” with which we aren’t remotely satisfied, instead of spending time doing things we love with people we care about. All while being harangued by preposterous claims of how we can simply change it all with some “#positive vibes.” It’s a fucking real shit sandwich we’ve cooked up for ourselves, isn’t it?
