I’m waiting for that record-scratch moment when something so insane and horrible happens that the whole country stops and goes “OK, wait, this is not cool!” and we can all agree on a more reasonable compromise for the better.
It may be too late. We may be past our ability to be affected as a race. You cannot change the world with words that the masses refuse to hear or believe based on antiquated traditions. We pan the solutions and stagnate progress for fear of being obsolete, unnecessary, unneeded, unwanted. We are ironically obsessed with our legacy while, at the same time, we build one for which we will surely be ashamed, whether or not we will ever have the courage to admit it.
This is an older post of mine, but I felt inspired to reshare it today after reading about this insane authoritarian idea called Project 2025. Not that there haven’t been innumerous moments that should have granted us the crystalizing unity to see how our political divisions play out against the pat hand opposite us, but against my better knowledge, I would love to think we‘d all be able to look at this together and agree that it’s wrong. And yeah, I know, that’s naive.

You are right about weird shit! I never thought for a minute that the crazies would get enough gumption to overturn Roe Vs. Wade! But they did! There are too many other weird shit things that they are working on in the background to rest easy at night! So I guess we have to learn “Duck and Cover” all over again. Good Luck, and let’s hope that cooler heads surface and Hitler doesn’t rise his ugly head again.
