Evolution in the Rightside-Wrong

We’re constantly evolving, and it’s not only our physiology—the society and culture we’ve created evolves as well. Here’s the catch—evolution doesn’t necessarily mean change for any idea of the objective “better.” Evolution is simply change over time as the needs of a species or system alter. Unfortunately, the change we’re seeing in our evolution is not one of progress. As life, through advances in technology and specialization, becomes easier and less mentally demanding, instead of using the excess faculties to advance ourselves as a species, we use them, by and large, to become more complacent about matters that might unnecessarily tax our minds. If we don’t need to be intelligent to survive, it would stand to reason that, evolutionarily speaking, we would increasingly reject the primitive and antiquated traditions that waste the energy of our minds to do so, and instead, use that energy more efficiently on some other endeavor than exercising our ability to think because we don’t particularly need to. Again, unfortunately, without the intelligence we would have accumulated exercising our minds before our focus was transferred to something less productive, we are limited in what those other endeavors can be, so we resort to shifting that energy to several more trivial and less beneficial pursuits, like concerning ourselves with useless idolization of any number of things that cannot further advance us in any way. Sadly, I believe what we are seeing is, in fact, the next step in our evolution. This is our society “evolving.” Backwards is the new forward. Apparently, we flew so we could crawl.

I’m also finishing up edits on two other books by two other wonderful authors. We’re excited to be releasing all of these soon through Dead Star Press. Additionally, the physical work to finish the Dead Star Press Bookmobile is scheduled to begin next week. Stay tuned to the bottom of the main page of the Dead Star Press website for upcoming markets and book release events here: DeadStarPress.com. There will be so much more so soon.
