Finite Parallels

I think we are already living simultaneously in parallel universes. There’s the you that you used to be, the you that you are now, the parent you, the online you, the work you, the you when you’re alone, the you when you’re with friends, and no matter how much you are yourself in any of these situations, they are still very all distinct people. The difficulty of being alive is figuring out which one of these variations or what combination of them is actually you and trying not to lose sight of that in the face of being pulled in each of those thousands of directions all at the same time.

  1. I am working on making the different aspects of my life harmonize instead of having them pull me in different directions. One of the things that has helped me is just learning to relax and be myself in every situation.

  2. ‘Only one us’ – that sounds so right. It’s sad that we finally end up not knowing who we really are. Self-perception and the perceptions of others, kind or unkind, tear us apart into identities even we can’t recognize. So much to think about. Definitely ‘finite parallels’. Awesome! 🙂

We try to find out who we truly cause we are different aspects of ourselves. I love it.

  4. If you’ve got a moment try reading: ‘No Self No Problem’ by Chris Niebauer (abt. 150 pages).
I don’t agree with all of it (as usual). But, it’s interesting.
